Join us at Haven for a five-course dinner celebrating the wines from one of America’s most passionate, family-owned wineries, Cakebread Cellars. Our special guest speaker, Aaron Fishleder, Vice President of Operations at the winery, will guide us through beautifully paired courses by Executive Chef, Chad Johnson and Haven’s Chef de Cuisine, Martin DeJesus.. Embark on a journey that began in 1973 and reflect on the experience of quality wine paired with good food and good company.

The Laxer Family Foundation is a charitable foundation that provides the opportunity to raise money through events that foster a more inclusive and cooperative youth culture while cultivating the advancement of the next generation of culinary leaders through scholarships. Since 1997, Bern’s Winefest has been the main fundraising event for the Bern Laxer Memorial Scholarship. Through the James Beard Foundation selection process, funds are awarded to individuals from the state of Florida in one of three disciplines: Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or Viticulture. A portion of the proceeds raised through this event will go  directly to the Bern Laxer Memorial Scholarship Fund. Aaron Fishleder, VP of Operations

Aaron Fishleder joined Cakebread Cellars in 2020 as Vice President of Operations.

Aaron studied Plant Science, Horticulture, and Viticulture at UC Davis.  Upon graduation, he embarked on a career as a viticulturalist and spent more than 20 years at Far Niente Vineyards, rising to President of their farming operations.  To his role at Cakebread, he brings deep experience in building and managing grape growing and wine production teams, which helps enhance the integration among viticulture, winemaking, and facilities management.

Aaron and his family live in Napa, where he enjoys landscaping, tennis, running, and working with his wife, Heather, on design projects around their house.
