Join us at the most exclusive event of Bern’s Winefest, the Bern’s Steak House Legacy Dinner. Guests will be treated to an extravagant five-course dinner at Bern’s Steak House in the Harry Waugh Dessert Room. This seated food and wine experience will feature hand-picked selections from the Bern's Steak House cellar. Bern’s Family Restaurant Group’s Proprietor, David Laxer, Wine Director, Chris Belk and Senior Sommelier, Brad Dixon, scoured the Bern’s cellar for exquisite selections for our guests to enjoy.
Each rare vintage is thoughtfully curated and paired with a dish from each one of our family restaurants’ esteemed local chefs - Brent Hunt (Bern’s Steak House), Chad Johnson (Bern’s Steak House & Haven), Hannah Thomas (Bern’s Steak House), Jon Atanacio (Epicurean Hotel) and Gerry Sizemore (Haven) - for this over-the-top, once in a lifetime dinner.
A portion of the wines for this festival event are donated by Bern’s Steak House to the Laxer Family Foundation to help benefit the Bern Laxer Memorial Scholarship Fund through the James Beard Foundation. Without Bern Laxer’s vision for our future and his expert palate, the Bern’s Steak House wine collection wouldn’t be what it is today. We hope his legacy will help make way for our state’s future culinary, hospitality management, and viticulture leaders in our industry.

The Laxer Family Foundation is a charitable foundation that provides the opportunity to raise money through events that foster a more inclusive and cooperative youth culture while cultivating the advancement of the next generation of culinary leaders through scholarships. Since 1997, Bern’s Winefest has been the main fundraising event for the Bern Laxer Memorial Scholarship. Through the James Beard Foundation selection process, funds are awarded to individuals from the state of Florida in one of three disciplines: Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or Viticulture. A portion of the proceeds raised through this event will go directly to the Bern Laxer Memorial Scholarship Fund.
